Three Reasons Why Your Small Bedside Cot Is Broken (And How To Repair It)

A Small Bedside Cot That Attaches to Your Adult Bed

A bedside crib will allow you to keep your baby close during the night without needing to get out of bed. The breathable fabric allows you to easily see your baby and they are simple to lower when you require to feed your baby at 3am.

Some also double up as a moses basket, too.

What is a bedside crib?

A bedside crib (also called a bassinet or co-sleeper) is a small baby cot that attaches to your adult bed, allowing your newborn to sleep safely next to you. This is a safe form of co-sleeping that does not increase the risk of SIDS, like bedsharing. It also helps you bond with the new baby.

The cots usually have a side that can be raised, so you can easily reach your infant throughout the night for feeding and comforting. This is especially helpful for mothers recovering from a csection. Many of them are foldable or portable which means you can use them for trips and as an interim solution for babies who aren't quite ready to move into a full-sized crib.

Choose a crib that has a breathable mattress, and an appropriate cover to protect your baby from stains. You should also purchase baby-safe accessories such as a blanket, a teether and cuddly toys.

If you're looking for a longer-term option, some cribs have conversion kits that let you convert them into a cot or toddler bed at the time of need. This is a great way to extend their life span and making the transition easier.  you could try these out  have a removable top section that converts into a bassinet, while others can be used as an ordinary or high-rise adult bed. This is a good choice for families who plan on traveling frequently or transferring between bedrooms at night. Take into consideration the dimensions of your room to ensure that you fit in the crib comfortably. A lot of cribs have an incline that can be added to create an incline to accommodate babies with reflux.

The Joie Roomie Glide

The Roomie Glide, a bedside crib manufactured by the English brand Joie is a fantastic addition to their range of high-quality products for babies. This co-sleeper was designed to allow parents to connect and sleep side-by-side with their children without sharing one bed. It's loaded with features that help make bonding between parent and baby secure, easy, and fun.

A gentle rocking motion can be activated by pressing the button. This can soothe baby into sleep with a gentle rhythm that doesn't disrupt their natural sleep pattern. This is great for toddlers or older babies who have difficulty settling down. It can also help with digestive issues like colic and reflux.

The crib can be locked into its place after the rocking has been finished to stop it from moving and can also be secured on the bed's side using a strap and clip attachment. This makes the crib sturdy and secure, allowing you to sleep peacefully, without having to worry that your baby will roll off into the middle. The cocoon's rounded shape features softly padded sides and two mesh windows at both ends to allow plenty of airflow while making sure your baby is safe.

The mattress is soft and firm. It includes a washable cover. The lightweight aluminium frame makes the crib extremely mobile and easy to put together. The four lockable wheels are covered in rubber to ensure the crib doesn't leave marks on your floor and are easy to move around. It is easy to clean with cloths that wipe clean and is easy to put in a travel bag making it ideal for long-term absences from home.

The Tutti Bambini CoZeeAir

This superior model is designed to be a safe next-to-me-crib from birth to 6 months. It comes with rocking bars to allow for easy mobility, as well as castors. The airflow mattress is a premium model that provides an ideal sleeping surface and ventilators ensure your baby is kept cool. There are six different height settings as well as an incline option to help with reflux and congestion.

The Tutti Bambini COZee air crib comes with a removable fabric and a wipe-clean lining. This makes it easier to clean than bedside cribs that can be messy to clean. It also has an upper bar that can be easily adjusted to allow for feeding at night without the need to juggle zips.

Anna found that the CoZee was a safe and comfortable sleep space for her newborn. She loved that it didn't rock like other models, so it wasn't waking her at night when she was trying to comfort her baby for feeds. She also loved that the side lowered down so that she didn't have to reach over her partner to carry the baby for feedings at night.

The CoZee comes in oak or charcoal and is a fashionable addition to any bedroom. It's more modern than the other cribs we've tested and are typically utilitarian. It's also quite light at 11kg, and comes with a carry-on case that allows you to take it on holiday or when moving house. The only additional items you'll have to purchase are a waterproof cover and a co-sleeping safety strap. There are helpful step-by-step instructions and illustrations to help you put it together as you open the box and making it a one-person job if needed.

The Maxi-Cosi Lora

The Iora is a bassinet for the bed that helps parents feel closer to their child while they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and moves through three slide positions to fit beside the bed of the parent, or in the corner of the room, to ensure that your baby is close to the parent's side. The mesh siding lets air flow through, and allows you to quickly see your baby. You can also store more pajamas and other supplies in the large storage basket beneath.

The Iora is a smaller bedside crib that can fold flat. It also comes with a travel case which allows it to be taken anywhere. Our mom testers were able to move it from room to room, and believed that it was a good size for a small bedside cot, not too big or too small. The large storage basket is perfect for storing extra bedding or nappies.

This is an excellent choice for parents who are looking to sleep in a co-sleeping arrangement but do not want to share their own beds or whose partners may be prone to mobility issues, such as arthritis or back issues. Our mom testers love the convenience of being able to access their baby in the Iora, and that it comes with an adjustable reflux incline that can help with gas.

Our moms love that it follows NICE guidelines. These are to place the infant in the Moses basket or crib on its own, without blankets, toys and pillows. The mattress is also firm and comfortable for the baby and sheets are easily available. It's not as light as the other smaller cribs on our list, so if prefer something lighter and easier to move around, consider a different alternative.
